Lucius: The Beat Generation

Andrew De Lucia has produced music for a solid decade. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2002, he's had his hand in all aspects of the music business. Although mainly a producer, engineer and songwriter, he's also a performer, arranger, and mixer. De Lucia currently runs Blue Rhode Studios in North Hollywood - www.bluerhode.com. Within the same building is Clear Lake Audio, where he trained as an engineer. The facility has hosted plenty of top name artists - No Doubt, Jimmy Eat World, The Donnas, Whitesnake, Dwight Yoakam, Trisha Yearwood, Crosby and Nash, Ringo Starr, and Paula Abdul to name a few. In the past year he's landed songs on 103.1 FM, MTV (Cribs, Made, True Life, My Sweet 16, and more) VH1,and CNN, receiving placements in several television spots, and international Film/TV. He composed the score for an Indie film (Wrangling Coach Rankin), including an orchestral piece, and just finished recording an album with Brazilian star Reah Valente. De Lucia has close contacts with Film and TV Music Supervisors, Music Video Directors, and Music Attorneys.

Passionate about all musical styles, Andrew likes to dabble in multiple genres (often in the same song). He stays busy with Rock, Hip Hop, Funk, Pop, Electronic, Bossa Nova, Acoustic, Psychedelic and more. A short listen and it's evident he can do many things. He works diligently until the final product is something special, a sound you'll remember. He strays from the typical radio-safe style, but doesn't hesitate to make his songs catchy and classic in their own way. He can also easily turn around and do an Alternative, Jazz, R&B, or love ballad. If it's got potential, he'll make it great.

As a player, he is well-versed in guitar, keys, and bass. He's also been known to play a mean harmonica, tambourine, and obviously, cowbell. He has access to many talented musicians for just about any instrument and utilizes them for his records when needed.

On the technical side, Andrew works primarily with ProTools HD (including loads of plug-ins), Reason, various MIDI and sampling devices. Analog outboard gear: Avalon Pre Amp, 1176's, Pultec EQ's, and more. Mics: Neumann, Sennheiser, Shure, and AKG. The studio is equipped with a beautiful C7 Grand Yamaha Piano.
